Mike Gavin, Managing Partner
Mike began his New York Life career in 1990. He joined the company as an agent in the Arizona General Office where he was a successful agent for nine years, obtaining MDRT* status. He was referred to New York Life by his father, Patrick Gavin, who retired as the General Manager of the Scottsdale, AZ Office when Mike was in high school. Mike's brother, Tom Gavin, is a Senior NYLIC agent with the company in Northern California. Mike transitioned into management in January of 2000, and was recognized in December 2005 as one of the top 25 partners in the company. In February 2006, he was promoted to a Managing Partner for the Nashville General Office.
In 2007 the office was recognized as a leader nationwide for percentage increases in Life Premium, Life Case Rate, Total Commissions, and exceeding recruiting goals, and was awarded the ‘View from the Top” Trophy. Building upon the success of 2007, the Nashville General Office was recognized with Five National awards in 2008. Once again, the office won the prestigious “View from the Top” which was awarded to only 2 of the 120 offices nationwide in 2008. In addition the office won the President’s Trophy for production increase; The Vice Chairman’s Trophy for New Organization Sales, the Life Case Rate Trophy, and finally the Long Term Care Trophy and was recognized as having the highest GPA in the company. Nashville was one of only two offices in the country to receive 5 national awards in 2008. In April of 2009 Mike was promoted to the Kentucky General Office.
Mike and his wife, Stacy, have been married for over 23 years and reside in Louisville, KY with their youngest child, daughter Riley. Their eldest son, Michael, lives in Portland, Oregon where he attends the University of Portland, and son Blair plays soccer for the University of Akron Zips.
